Travel bugs and wandering stars – England part 4

After our Narrow boat canal journey, we hit the road again heading for the southern port of Plymouth. We enjoyed several AONB (Areas of Natural Beauty) and met lovely hosts in Bath and Topsham thanks to the bicyclists’ network of Warmshowers; booked some lovely campgrounds along rivers and on hilltops (with safe facilities for tent campers); and completed the trip across England in Plymouth.

Cotswolds

Butterfly Farm, Stratford-upon-Avon
Birdland Park & Gardens – finally checked some big birds off our list!

Woke up on a beautiful summer morning and followed this Slow Journey…

Bath

Amazing Linear Park leading into Bath

The Roman Baths
The Crescent

Glastonbury

We stayed at the Isle of Avalon campgrounds for 2 days to get a feel for all things magical…

Exeter – Topsham

Late summer rolled into Autumn as we rode through the Cotswolds, Bath, Blackdown Hills, Exeter and Dartmoor National Park. All of a sudden the fields were harvested and it was time for us to return to the EU via the ferry from Plymouth to Spain

Plymouth

In Plymouth, we were able to visit the very interesting Mayflower Museum and see 400 years of America’s history in the making. We stayed at a lovely Airbnb home with a washer and dryer = much needed Bonus!
Our Plymouth hostess is a textile artist: Quay Innovation
We also shared dinner with an amazing cook and outdoorsman, Grant Wyness

Spending a moment where our forefathers began their journey
