Scotland

We arrived at our next destination on our 30th Anniversary! After a 66 mile ride to the castle, we felt surprisingly great! We had to push to arrive before dark because the campgrounds and inns are still closed due to Coronavirus.

Hadrian’s Wall to Scotland

This Baronial castle will be an interesting insight into late 1880s workmanship.

Day ride

Beautiful area to explore surrounded by views of the ocean, winding through pastoral hills. History around every bend.

To Tynron

After an incredibly beautiful ride following rushing rivers through the Scottish Lowlands, we arrived at a Victorian country home owned by a talented artist, Patrica Cain. Surrounded by a walled garden and river bank, the interior embellishments and wood work were enchanting.

Edinburgh

We took a bus to Edinburgh for a long weekend. It was well worth the ride (with face masks and social distancing). The ride through the Dalveen pass was incredible! We liked the layers of history and the geography of Edinburgh more than London.

Farewell Scotland

Back on the bikes from Tynron to Carlisle. We put Scotland behind us and camped on the outskirts of Carlisle.
